Warehouse Logistics Manager

I. Summary:

Life Science Products, Inc. (LSP), an employee-owned company, has been providing interior Wall, Floor, Ceiling, Door and Wall Protection products to the Medical Science and Technology Research Field for over 40 years. Our proven solutions are used by the most highly respected Government, Private and Public Medical Research Institutions in the U.S. and Canada. LSP also offers a full range of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for lab research personnel. We are seeking a manager to add to our warehouse team. This position will report directly to the CEO. This position will supervise and work with a team that holds responsibility for completion of warehouse duties for Life Science Products, Inc. This position ensures accuracy of inventory numbers and oversees warehouse operation including material tracking, inventory accuracy, supply needs, and overall housekeeping. Ensures orders are filled and delivered in an expedient and cost-effective manner. Ensures safety and fleet maintenance requirements of the warehouse are met. Provides guidance, reviews, and supervision for warehouse personnel. II. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.

  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees. This includes coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.

  • Comply with Federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by keeping up with new and current legislation.

  • Implement, maintain, and oversee operational policies and procedures.

  • Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile the data storage systems.

  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new designs and storage layouts or designs.

  • Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers for both outbound shipments and imports.

  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.

  • Maintain and develop current in-house delivery route.

  • Handles DOT compliance for Hazmat, safety compliance, recordkeeping and assistance with training.

  • Responsible for ensuring all jobs in the warehouse department are completed properly and in a timely manner. Assists with duties listed in Warehouse as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

III. Skilled Requirements:

  • Three plus years of warehouse management experience.

  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to operate a forklift effectively.

  • Ability to lift 80+ pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Ability to climb and work at heights up to 20 feet.

  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong math, reading, and writing skills required.

  • Strong attention to details and time management skills are required.

  • Strong communication skills are key, the ability to effectively communicate on phone and email are required.

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member towards efficient and timely support throughout the organization.

  • Must be tactful and factual when dealing with sensitive personnel issues. Maintain professional conduct with both employees and customers.

  • Ability to operate independently and with a team in an office atmosphere.

  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

IV. Work Hours and Traveling:

Work week is Monday through Friday. Normally, any traveling required is local and within one day. Should emergencies arise, this position may be need to fill in on supply deliveries or pick-ups for short periods. Flexibility required allowing for extended workdays as determined by the CEO.
