Vice President of Construction | Interior Finishes

I. Summary:

 Life Science Products, Inc. (LSP), an employee-owned company, has been providing interior Wall, Floor, Ceiling, Door and Wall Protection products to the Medical Science and Technology Research Field for over 40 years. Our proven solutions are used by the most highly respected Government, Private and Public Medical Research Institutions in the U.S. and Canada. LSP also offers a full range of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for lab research personnel. Company sales totals are divided approximately evenly between construction products and PPE. We are currently seeking an VP of Construction for our Construction Division. This position will primarily be responsible for the entire construction team from the initial bid to the final walk through. This includes estimating, scheduling, project management, installation, and all labor requirements. They will work closely with field team members, executive leadership, general contractors, and the internal admin team. This position will be reporting to the CEO. The right individual must have a keen attention to detail and possess clear communication aptitudes, including strong oral and written skills. II. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and maintain good relationships with vendors, building officials, architects, general and sub-contractors, along with customers. 
  • Oversee all aspects of the construction and development process, from initial bid request to completion. 
  • Develop and implement budgets and financial plans. 
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors. 
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with all regulations. 
  • Represent the company to the public and clients. 
  • Develop and implement operational procedures. 
  • Conduct job site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, address any on-site issues, and maintain effective communication with field teams, sub, and general contractors. 
  • Evaluate teams and processes to maintain efficiency. 
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices. 

III. Skilled Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management or extensive industry experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of strong leadership, communication, team building skills, and the demonstrated personal drive to achieve ambitious goals within the construction industry.
  • Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively dynamic team environment with multiple projects, scopes, and priorities.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction management; interior finishes preferred.
  • OSHA 500 & 501 Certification
  • Strong collaboration with sales, admin support staff and contractors. 

IV. Work Hours and Traveling:

Travel will be required on a limited basis. The nature of the position may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings or weekends. Work is in a general informal office atmosphere in Chestertown, MD along with construction sites along the East Coast.

CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

I. Summary:

Life Science Products, Inc. Our proven solutions are used by the most highly respected Government, Private and Public Medical Research Institutions in the U.S. and Canada. LSP also offers a full range of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for lab research personnel. We are currently seeking a Construction Warehouse Associate. This position will report to the Construction Products Manager and works closely with other warehouse staff to communicate and ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role requires professional and clear communication with delivery drivers, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate product flow. The position is responsible for performing manual tasks and using equipment for the receiving, storage, and preparation of construction materials. The associate ensures the accurate and efficient flow of products, provides support to the CPG team, tracks inventory levels and material orders, as well as perform data entry for materials and purchases. This position will also be responsible for preparing and providing high quality samples for marketing and maintaining a supply for use at all times. II. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely unload, receive, and inspect all incoming shipments, comparing contents with delivery manifests to ensure accuracy.
  • Store and shelve items, efficiently utilizing warehouse space and maintaining a reasonable and acceptable organization for ease of finding product. Ensure that all entrances, exits, aisles and dock areas remain unobstructed and free of debris.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and stage materials for outgoing orders, ensuring products are ready for delivery or pickup by installation teams and customers.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment as required to move products safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for data entry, inventory tracking, and printing shipping labels.
  • Reconcile credit card statements for all CPG Crew Team members on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels and report any discrepancies.
  • Manage CPG products and working supplies inventory by keeping track of all items in the warehouse.
  • Handle CPG ordering by working with the Purchasing department to place orders for new CPG products and working supplies based on upcoming jobs. Product research may be required.
  • Process material pulls and returns, retrieving materials for outgoing jobs and managing incoming returns.
  • Manage partial mixes by organizing, mixing, and ensuring partials are returned to inventory and used in the next job.
  • Provide samples for marketing purposes. Ensure samples are of high quality, are labeled and that an adequate supply is maintained.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

III. Skilled Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED for math, reading and writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills are a must, including the ability to use email and perform data entry.
  • Experience with standard office products (Microsoft Office, etc.) and accounting applications desired.
  • Ability to manage calendar and schedule changes efficiently, sometimes at the last minute.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills required.
  • Ability to work as a team or individually to accomplish all tasks efficiently.
  • Utilize good communication and organizational skills to ensure systems are maintained.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs repetitively and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Able to climb and work at heights up to 20 feet.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, but training will be provided.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work in a warehouse environment that may be dusty and have varying temperatures.

IV. Work Hours and Traveling:

This position is primarily based at the warehouse facility. Flexibility may be required for extended workdays as needed to meet project deadlines and shipping schedules. Normal work days are Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. Travel may be required from time to time.
